This policy explains how Amigas ("Amigas", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies across the Amigas mobile app and our website at amigas.click. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information more generally. You can reach us any time at contact@amigas.click.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
"Cookies" are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies do the same kind of job in a mobile app — for example on-device storage (such as the app's local preferences), software development kits (SDKs), and device identifiers. In this policy we use "cookies" as shorthand for all of these.
We group them by what they are for:
- Strictly necessary — needed to run the service and keep it secure. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics — help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it. These are optional and off until you agree to them.
- Advertising / tracking — used to profile people or show targeted ads. We do not use these.
Our website (amigas.click)
Our website is made up of static pages — it hosts information such as this policy, our Privacy Policy, and our Terms, and lets you join our launch waitlist. It does not run web analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies, and it does not build a profile of you. Any storage it uses is strictly necessary to deliver the pages securely.
Our launch waitlist signup form works the same way: it uses only strictly-necessary storage — for example, to submit the form securely and to help prevent spam — and sets no analytics or advertising cookies. The details you enter in the form (your email, the city you'd like Amigas in, and your name if you give it) are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Our mobile app
The Amigas app does not use traditional browser cookies. It relies on the following similar technologies:
- Essential on-device storage (strictly necessary). We store small amounts of data on your device to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and record your privacy choices (including whether you have agreed to analytics). The app cannot work without this, so it cannot be turned off.
- Sign-in session (strictly necessary). To keep you signed in, our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication) stores session data on your device — including, on the web version of the app, in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB).
- Analytics (optional). With your consent, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used. Analytics is off by default — nothing is collected until you agree — and you can turn it on or off at any time in Settings. See our Privacy Policy for what this covers.
- Push notifications (optional). If you turn on notifications, we store a device notification token so we can send them. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings or in your device settings.
We do not use advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking technologies in the app.
Managing your choices
- Analytics: turn it on or off any time in the app under Settings. You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it.
- Notifications: turn off in the app's Settings or in your device's system settings.
- Device-level controls: your phone's settings let you reset or limit advertising identifiers and manage app permissions.
- Website: because our website uses only strictly-necessary storage, there is nothing optional to manage — but your browser settings let you clear or block site storage at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will always update the date above, and for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
