Welcome to Amigas, a women-only app for making friends. These Terms are an agreement between you and Amigas ("Amigas", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Amigas, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who can use Amigas
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Amigas is for women. Membership is self-declared, and we ask you to be honest.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
Your account
You sign in with your email and a one-time code. Keep access to your email secure — anyone who can receive your code can access your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. Please keep to one account per person.
What Amigas is (and isn't)
Amigas helps you discover and connect with other women for friendship — through daily picks, coffee invites, and group activities (where available). Amigas is not a dating service. We do not guarantee that you will match with, hear back from, or get along with any other member.
Community rules
To keep Amigas welcoming and safe, you agree not to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or abuse other members.
- Post hateful, discriminatory, violent, or illegal content.
- Upload nudity, sexual, or otherwise explicit content.
- Impersonate anyone, or create a fake or misleading profile.
- Use Amigas to advertise, sell, solicit, spam, or recruit.
- Share other members' private information without their consent.
- Attempt to scrape, hack, disrupt, or otherwise misuse the app or other members' data.
Group activities
Where group activities are available, any member can host or join them. While an activity is open, it is visible to every member of the app: if you host or join one, your name, photo, age, and neighbourhood are visible to any member browsing activities, until the activity is closed. Any messages you post in the activity's group chat are visible to the other attendees of that activity. Activities are organised between members — we do not run, vet, or supervise them, and the safety guidance below applies fully to any meeting in person.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and content you post. By posting it, you give us a non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, and moderate it so that we can run the service. You are responsible for your content, and you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it does not break these Terms.
Moderation and enforcement
We check uploaded photos automatically for explicit content, and we may review content that is reported. We may remove content and may warn, suspend, or permanently remove accounts that break these Terms or put others at risk. You can report or block any member from within the app, and we aim to respond to reports promptly.
Safety
Amigas does not verify the identity, background, or character of members. You are responsible for your own interactions, including any decision to meet someone in person. Please take sensible precautions: meet in a public place, tell someone where you are going, and trust your instincts. We are not responsible for the conduct of any member, whether online or offline.
Privacy
Your use of Amigas is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information.
Our content
The Amigas app, name, logo, and design are owned by us and protected by law. You may not copy or reuse them without our permission.
Ending your membership
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account; this immediately and permanently deletes your profile, photos, and account (see our Privacy Policy for how messages and safety records are handled). We may also suspend or delete your account, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to protect other members or the community. Where reasonable and lawful, we will tell you why.
Disclaimers and liability
Amigas is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the actions of other members. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This does not remove any mandatory protection you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence — including, for consumers in the EU/EEA and the UK, the right to bring proceedings in your local courts and to rely on the consumer-protection rules that apply there. As an EU consumer, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will always update the date above, and for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know — for example, by a notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use Amigas after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
