Amigas is a women-only space for making real friendships — through daily picks, coffee invites, and group activities. These guidelines exist to keep it warm, respectful, and safe for everyone. They apply to everything you do on Amigas: your profile, your photos, your messages, and your activities. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy — where the Terms and these Guidelines overlap, both apply.
By using Amigas, you agree to follow them. Breaking them can lead to a warning, removal of content, or the suspension or permanent removal of your account.
Who Amigas is for
- Women, aged 18 and over. Membership is self-declared — please be honest.
- One real account per person. Be yourself. Don't impersonate anyone or pretend to be someone you're not.
- Friendship, not dating. Amigas is for making friends, not for romance, hookups, or dating. Please don't use it that way.
- Friendship, not business. Amigas is for genuine friendship — not for finding clients, pitching, promoting, or building an audience. Please don't use your profile, invites, or group activities to sell, recruit, or generate leads.
The spirit of Amigas
Most of this comes down to a simple idea: treat other women the way you'd want a new friend to treat you.
- Be kind. Warmth and good faith go a long way. Assume the best of the women you meet here.
- Be real. An honest profile and genuine photos help real friendships happen.
- Show up well. If you make plans, honour them — and if something changes, cancel kindly rather than leaving someone waiting.
- It's okay not to click. Not every match becomes a friendship. If someone doesn't reply, or says no, respect that gracefully — no means no.
Your profile and photos
- Use real, recent photos of yourself. No misleading, stolen, AI-generated, or heavily filtered-to-deceive images.
- No nudity, sexual, or explicit content. Every photo is automatically screened before it goes live, and clearly explicit photos are rejected.
- No profiles for selling, promoting, or recruiting, and no profiles that exist just to share contact details or drive people elsewhere.
- Don't put other people's private information, or content you don't have the right to use, in your profile.
Messages, invites, and activities
- Be respectful in every conversation — including in group-activity chats.
- Don't spam or send unsolicited sales, promotions, links, or recruitment messages.
- Group activities are organised between members. We don't run, vet, or supervise them. Be considerate to hosts and other attendees, and follow the safety guidance below for any meeting in person.
- Don't share screenshots or private details of other members — their messages, photos, or contact information — without their consent.
What's not allowed
To keep Amigas safe and welcoming, do not:
- Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, or abuse anyone.
- Post hateful, discriminatory, violent, or otherwise illegal content.
- Post nudity, sexual, or otherwise explicit content.
- Impersonate anyone, or create a fake or misleading profile.
- Advertise, sell, solicit, spam, or recruit.
- Share other members' private information without their consent.
- Run scams, phishing, or other deceptive schemes.
- Scrape, hack, disrupt, or otherwise misuse the app or other members' data.
Meeting in person
Amigas doesn't verify the identity, background, or character of members, so use good judgement when you meet someone offline:
- Meet in a public place.
- Tell a friend or family member where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it's okay to leave.
You're responsible for your own interactions, online and offline.
Reporting and blocking
If someone makes you uncomfortable or breaks these Guidelines, you can report or block them from within the app. Reports are reviewed, and blocking stops that person from reaching you. You never have to explain yourself to use these tools — your safety and comfort come first.
What happens when guidelines are broken
Depending on what happened, we may:
- remove content,
- issue a warning,
- temporarily suspend an account, or
- permanently remove an account.
To keep the community safe, we may keep a limited record of reports and blocks even after an account is removed (see our Privacy Policy for details).
